Brain Exercise

Here's a brain exercise you can use to help you concentrate better. You simply pay attention to what is going on in your head, and you resolve any little "mind irritations" you find there. If you feel stressed, there is a reason. Perhaps you never figured out where that book was that you were looking for this morning, and it has been quietly bothering you all day, just below consciousness. If you can become aware of all these stressors, small and large, and deal with them, you will feel more relaxed and have greater concentration and brain power in general.
Dealing with them doesn't mean you can resolve all these issues now. You can, however, do something with them so you can let them go for the moment. Write "find book" on your to-do list, and your mind will let go of the concern for now. Just bringing a problem to full consciousness and telling yourself something like, "There is nothing I can do about this until Friday," will often stop the unconscious worrying. After doing these brain exercises a few times, you'll find it becomes easier to recognize what is just below the surface, irritating you and sapping your brain power.
Try breathing deeply also. This shouldn't be classified with "brain exercises," but it can help. Get that oxygen into your blood, and into your brain. You can exercise your brain with hard riddles as well.

Slow Down Culture (It yields better results) !

Slow Down Culture (It yields better results) !

It's been 18 years since I joined Volvo, a Swedish company. Working for them has proven to be an interesting experience. Any project here takes 2 years to be finalized, even if the idea is simple and brilliant. It's a rule.

Globalized processes have caused in us (all over the world) a general sense of searching for immediate results. Therefore, we have come to posses a need to see immediate results. This contrasts greatly with! the slow movements of the Swedish. They, on the other hand, debate, debate, debate, hold several meetings and work with a slowdown scheme. At the end, this always yields better results.

The first time I was in Sweden, one of my colleagues picked me up at the hotel every morning. It was September, bit cold and snowy. We would arrive early at the company and he would park far away from the entrance (2000 employees drive their car to work). The first day, I didn't say anything, either the second or third. One morning I asked, "Do you have a fixed parking space? I've noticed we park far from the entrance even when there are no other cars in the lot." To which he replied, "Since we're here early we'll have time to walk, and whoever gets in late will be late and need a place closer to the door. Don't you think we should help them too! ?" Imagine my face!

Nowadays, there's a movement in Europe name Slow Food. This movement establishes that people should eat and drink slowly, with enough time to taste their food, spend time with the family, friends, without rushing. Slow Food is against its counterpart: the spirit of Fast Food and what it stands for as a lifestyle. Slow Food is the basis for a bigger movement called Slow Europe, as mentioned by Business Week.

Basically, the movement questions the sense of "hurry" and "craziness" generated by globalization, fueled by the desire of "having in quantity" (life status) versus "having with quality", "life quality" or the "quality of being". French people, even though they work 35 hours per week, are more productive than Americans or British. Germans have established 28.8 hour workweeks and have seen their productivity been driven up by 20%. This slow attitude has brought forth the US's attention, pupils of the fast and the "do it now!"

This no-rush attitude doesn't represent doing less or having a lower productivity. It means working and doing things with greater quality, productivity, perfection, with attention to detail and less stress. It means re-establishing family values, friends, free and leisure time. Taking the "now", present and concrete, versus the "global", undefined and anonymous. It means taking humans' essential values, the simplicity of living.

It stands for a less coercive work environment, more happy, lighter and more productive where humans enjoy doing what they know best how to do. It's time to stop and think on how companies need to develop serious quality with no-rush that will increase productivity and the quality of products and services, without losing the essence of spirit.

Many of us live our lives running behind time, but we only reach it when we die of a heart attack or in a car accident rushing to be on time. Others are so anxious of living the future that they forget to live the present, which is the only time that truly exists. We all have equal time throughout the world. No one has more or less. The difference lies in how each one of us does with our time. We need to live each moment. As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".

Easy tips to Increase IQ

Breath To Increase IQ
Breath deep. This is one of the easiest and most effective ways to improve the functioning of your brain immediately. By breathing deeply we relax and put more oxygen in the blood (therefore in the brain), both of which help. Relaxation has been proven to improve brain function. Low oxygen levels in the blood have been shown to decrease it. Since most of us are in the habit of breathing too shallowly, this is a quick way to increase IQ. By the way, if you breath through your nose, you are more likely to breath deeply.
Meditating also helps, primarily because of the deep breathing aspect. The state of mind achieved through a simple breath-watching meditation allows true relaxation, and is conducive to creative problem solving. Just close your eyes and breath through your nose, deeply at first, then in whatever way is comfortable. As thoughts arise, dismiss them and return your attention to your breath. Do this for at least a few minutes.
Self-Hypnosis may help you increase you intelligence quotient.
Move Your Body To Increase IQ
Sit up straight, and close your mouth. Good posture affects our state of mind, and helps us to think more clearly. Try an experiment to prove this to yourself. Do math problems in your head; first while slouching, with your mouth open; then while sitting up straight with your lips together. You'll get the point.
Exercise a little. Physical activity-just enough to get the blood pumping-can "wake up" your brain enough to help you think better. Walking seems to work best, but any aerobic activity can help increase your IQ.
Sleep well. You knew this one, right? Just remember, the evidence shows us that the quality of sleep is very important, not just the quantity.
What You Eat Can Increase Or Decrease Your IQ
Consume ginkgo biloba. Whether in capsules or tea or off a neighbors tree, ginkgo leaves have been shown to increase blood flow to the brain, helping memory and concentration. The effect is quick, and doesn't seem to diminish with regular use.
Drink coffee. Everything from test scores on college exams to chess games have been shown to improve after a cup of coffee or other drink containing caffeine. It is a temporary effect, however, and caffeine may have adverse long-term effects for regular users.
Avoid Sugar. Actually any simple carbohydrates taken in large quantities can give you that sluggish feeling that makes it difficult to think. This is due to the insulin that is dumped into your veins after the sugar is. Don't eat white flour, sugar, potatoes, and other carbs before an important meeting, or anytime you need full use of your intelligence.

How to Practice Good Manners with a Rude Person

There are times when we are confronted with a rude behavior like a sales person ignores our requests, an insensitive person says hurtful words to us, someone gives us the infamous “finger,” or we encounter an impolite or offensive behavior from someone we met on the net. How do we stay composed in these situations?
When we were young our parents at home and teachers in school taught us about good manners. How to act with respect towards how to be courteous and polite with the way we act and speak so as not to offend other people. So, good manners is all about considering the feelings of other people and being the kind of person that others will like and respect.
As an adult, we are often times confronted with situations that would test our patience. So how do we stay civil and practice good manners even when we are tested?

Tip # 1
Stay calm
Being civil with a rude person is to know how to control your temper. In any situation, it is advisable to stay calm because it allows you to think clearly and stay positive.
Tip # 2
Presume goodwill
Try to negotiate like a diplomat. This is a grateful way to ask people to do what you want them to do. Never start a fight just because you don’t agree on some things. Keep an open mind and stay calm. For as long as you can negotiate or compromise then do it. This gives the other person a face-saving way to change his or her behavior.
Tip # 3
Don’t fight rudeness with rudeness
Sometimes when people encounter rude behavior they often retaliate with a rude behavior also, so this doubles the amount of rudeness. It is always best to stay calm and answer politely even if the person that you are talking with is being rude. Remember to never stoop down to the level of a rude person because if you do, it wouldn’t make you far different from him or her.

Tip # 4
Practice restraint
If someone is being rude to you, ignore his or her behavior and address them in a courteous, polite, and positive way. If they give you that rude ugly look, return it with a sunny smile look and a polite behavior. It is exactly how an educated person would respond.
Tip # 5
Teach good manners early
Good manners when taught at home by parents is more effective because they themselves pose as good role models for their children, and this would prevent them from being narcissistic and abusive adults when they grow up.
Rudeness is everywhere but you can be different; you can be a well-respected person if you know how to respect other people’s feelings, and act accordingly to what is right and proper.

You put your business card where?

There they are.

Just sitting there. Sad, unused, and dusty.

No, I am not talking about those weights that you aren't using to work out with or the pile of books on your night stand that are unopened and unread. I am talking about the most valuable marketing tool you already have; your business cards.

Business cards are not just for exchanging with people you are meeting for the first time, they are a valuable tool that can be used to give to people who you have not yet meet. Just like every time you talk with someone it is an opportunity to talk about your business, every place you go is an opportunity to strategically drop your business card.

Remember you can never have too many business cards or have too many ways to get them into the hands of people, you can always get more.

Here are a few examples:

- We all go out to restaurants. Leave your card with the payment of your bill. Write a "Thank You" on your card for an extra personal touch.

- When you go to the library, find self help books that have to do with your business is and leave your card with the introduction of the book. So, if you are in construction, find the "Dummies" books on self home repair and leave your card.

- Find a day care in the area of your office, near your home or your own day care and ask if you can put a display up for your cards. Purchase a card holder and go fill it up every few weeks.

- Airports are full of people from all walks of life. After you check in for your flight, place cards in high traffic areas: starbucks, the bathroom, magazine racks, snack bars. Just place a few cards on tables, sinks and food centers.

- Any time you mail a letter, put in your business card. Bills, friends, teachers, investors, strangers, mail all of them your card with the document or letter.

- Put your card on the sinks at the Gym. Everyone goes to check their make-up and hair before they leave that room, so you know a lot of people will have the opportunity to grab your bard.

- When you go shoe shopping place your card INSIDE shoes. The most popular shoe sizes at 8 for women and 10 for men.

- Any where there is a waiting room. Find the table with the magazines and leave a stack there. Maybe even put them inside the magazines of the waiting room.

- Keep a container of thumb tacks in your car and every time you come across public bulletin boards, tack your card in a few places around the board.

- After you leave a networking event, slide them into the drivers side window of the cars you walk by on the way to your car.

Fraud in VoIP market: forewarned is forearmed

In all times there were the people who preferred easy money to hard work. And the appearance of the World Wide Web wasn’t left unnoticed by them.

Internet community attempted to fight with frauds. The main ‘battle field’ was numerous forums. Either fraud victims or sympathizing witnesses post their alarms. Though, the information was insufficient, badly arranged and the required information search took a lot of time. Besides, IT companies publish their special reviews with swindle schemes explanations. However, such reviews are mainly treated as advisory features and do not offer guidance to concerned users.
A few years ago Speedflow Communications set an aim to make work conditions in VoIP business more secure. This company made an attempt to combine all the best features done by its predecessors, i.e. forums efficiency and professional safety approach. VoIP Fraud LIST was created in this way. The project motto is absolutely clear: ’Our aim — keep the money in VoIP industry’. The initiative has turned out to be very successful. At present the project consists of more than 3000 registered users from all over the world who fill it with vital information which results in anti-frauds campaign enhancement. Google Analytics survey shows that the site is visited by around 500 people a day.
Why is this project attractive for VoIP market operators? First of all they can find exact answers to numerous questions regarding VoIP business in the unique database. The other main thing is that the information is formed with help of telecom companies from all over the world. Due to their help the site contains the most valid information about frauds, defaulter companies and fraudulent schemes.

Now every company can get the information about the potential risk in new interconnections. It is a kind of credit history model. The site contains systemized information about more than 250 companies which might be risky to interconnect with. It is one of the most complete debtor companies database on the VoIP market.

Initially the site organizers didn’t plan to bear arbitral functions. Anti-fraud informational portal runs according to the following unpublished law: “everyone has the right for free thoughts and information access”. After registration every company can make a post with detailed description about the company with inappropriate deeds. The website administrator always contacts the company on which the post was made suggesting to refute if the information was false. Everyone has the right to defend his good name. Therefore, all the information placed on the site undergoes a multilevel check-up.

Anyway, the swindle wave which swamped VoIP market at its beginning has significantly diminished. The major frauds activities are directed to the companies from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc. where VoIP services have recently started to expand. Brief experience and operators’ number prepare the ground for various cheatings. The frauds’ schemes aren’t extremely original: all existent schemes are displayed and discussed in details on Anti-fraud informational portal.

According to the request analysis the majority fraudulent cases occurred because of incomplete softswitch and billing systems which prevent from full-fledged work on VoIP market. On account of programs and equipment limits there happen incorrect invoicing, balance formation, CDRs, routing mistakes, etc.

But the TOP problem today is trite non-payments. The slogan ‘Obtain the goods and don’t pay’ — is still vital. In our case — it signifies terminating traffic via some vendors without paying for transit. In order to avoid such situation checking your potential partner’s reputation is extremely vital. You can get all the necessary information without leaving the office owing to the internet sources.

The more information you can find about the company the better. The main feature is to check if the company is officially registered or offshore, how long has the domain been registered. A well-established company usually has not free domains, there have to be quite a few links for the company on various forums, news resources and other sites, etc.

There is one more popular problem in VoIP sphere – FAS machines usage (FAS — False Answer Supervision). VoIP community has continually insisted on the FAS fight. However, the total elimination of this phenomenon is still impossible:
  • firstly, the equipment and FAS schemes are being sophisticated day by day, therefore, even the up-to-date systems cannot clearly detect false tariffication;
  • secondly, FAS disputes is an extremely rigorous work claiming attention and efforts and not every company can afford it to have a specially qualified person as a full time employee.
The sense of impunity results in frequent FAS routes and a great many companies still lose money paying for the calls which in fact didn’t happen.

VoIP companies often come across with fraudulent scheme which is called ‘Groundless dispute’. In this case the events go the following way. A new client cooperates successfully with your company, pays all the invoices regularly until his traffic volumes aren’t very high. At some moment he increases his volumes significantly and in response to the invoice you get the dispute almost for all the sum of his terminated traffic. The most common issues are in calls’ absence on client’s side, calls duration difference or FAS. You have to prove that there weren’t any cheating and the calls really passed from client’s IP-address and there was no FAS. Procrastination, prolonged examination and endless e-mailing is the following step. Your partner stops paying but continues using your services. It is hard to believe for a well-established company that the main aim of your partner was to use your services without paying. Unfortunately the story end is predetermined: if you don’t stop providing your services on receiving groundless dispute, the odds that you will get your money are very poor.

Two fraudulent schemes experienced by a number of VoIP companies worldwide cannot be left out. In VoIP Fraud LIST database they are called ‘Giant’s twins’ and ‘Unlimited test’.

The first scheme is widely applied not only in VoIP business but also in other spheres. There always have been the ones who are eager to use the advantages of well-established companies. The attempt to copy the name and the style of a famous company has the only one goal in VoIP business — to deceive the partner. Therefore, it’s recommended to start work with new clients on prepayment basis only and to provide credit only for those who you are 100 % sure in. You should follow the same practice with test accounts for potential partners. In order to avoid troubles setting limits for credit and test lines are advised.

VoIP Fraud LIST portal was created to save your money and nerves. The content is formed with the help of various VoIP companies’ experts from all over the world. All the published information goes through scrupulous check. There is a complete database of unreliable companies and a detailed archive of fraudulent schemes. The priceless knowledge and experience gained by the experts are offered. Use it for the business prosperity.

How to have a Charismatic Personality...

Have you ever noticed how some people captivate everyone they speak to? No matter what they look like or how much money they have, they can walk into a room and instantly be the center of attention. When they leave, people think highly of them and want to emulate them. Thats charisma, a sort of magnetism that inspires confidence and adoration.

Like beauty, luck, and social position, charisma can open many doors in life. Unlike these other qualities, anyone can become more charismatic.

1. Improve your posture. Good posture will give the impression of self confidence (even if you dont feel that way on the inside). While walking, maintain a relaxed yet definitive upright posture: spine long, shoulders back, head level with the ground. This may feel awkward or overpowering to you when you first practice it, but keep trying.

2. Relax the muscles in your face to the point where you have a natural, pleasant expression permanently engraved there. Face the world and show everyone you're not afraid.

3. Make a connection. When your eyes come in contact with another persons, nod and smile subtly with a subdued joy shining forth. Dont worry about the other persons reaction and dont overdo it.

4. Remember peoples names when you meet them for the first time. This takes an enormous amount of effort for most people. Repeat the persons name when stating your name to that person will help you to remember it better. For example: Hi Jack, Im Wendy. Follow through with small talk and repeat the persons name. Repeat it once more when you say goodbye. Its not just about helping you to remember that person. The more you say a persons name, the more that person will feel that you like them and the greater the chance theyll warm up to you.

5. Be interested in people. If you meet a new acquaintance, for example a coworker, a classmate, a friend of a friend, etc. find out about their immediate family and interests. Be sure to ask after the names of family members and remember them. Be careful in that subject though you dont want to be nosy. If you ask too much they will become uncomfortable. Also ask after their particular interests in life. These two topics will ensure much better small talk than just harping on about school or work. Most people dont like to think about those things at social occasions unless they have to. Even if it is about networking, you should understand fully the worth of taking a break from talking shop. It is important to refrain from talking up about yourself. Be purely interested and impressed by the person with whom you are speaking.

6. Orient topics toward the audience. This means taking into account topics that interest those around you, even if you are not so keen on them. If you are in a sporty crowd, talk about last nights game or the meteoric rise of a new team. If you are amongst a group of hobbyists, draw out their hobbies and make remarks related to fishing, knitting, mountain climbing, movies, etc. Nobody expects you to be an expert. It is your level of interest and willingness to engage in topics that makes you an interesting person to be around. Exercise an open mind. Let others do the explaining. If someone mistakenly thinks you know more about the topic, be genuine and simply say that your knowledge is limited but that you are hoping to learn more about it.

7. Praise others instead of gossiping. If you are talking with someone or you are talking in a group of people, and up pops the subject of another person in a positive or negative way, be the one to mention something you like about that person. Hearsay is the most powerful tool in gaining charm because it is always viewed as 100% sincere. It has the added benefit of creating trust in you. The idea will spread that you never have a bad word to say about anyone. Everyone will know that their reputation is safe with you.

8. Dont Lie. A lie is something you say for which there is some direct evidence somewhere out there that contradicts it. If you tell Mary that you like Jane and Billy that you dont like Jane, Mary and Billy will talk and your reputation will be ruined. No one will believe a word you say.

9. Issue compliments generously, especially to raise others self esteem. Try to pick out something that you appreciate in any situation and verbally express that appreciation. If you like something or someone, find a creative way to say it and say it immediately. If you wait too long, it may be viewed as insincere and badly timed, especially if others have beaten you to it. If you notice that someone is putting a lot of effort into something, compliment it, even if you feel that there is room for improvement. If you notice that someone has changed something about themselves haircut, manner of dress) notice it, and point out something you like about it. If you are asked directly, be charming and deflect the question with a very general compliment.

10. Be gracious in accepting compliments. Get out of the habit of assuming that the compliment is being given without genuine intent. Even when someone makes a compliment out of contempt, there is always a germ of jealous truth hiding in their own heart. Be effusive in accepting the compliment. Go beyond a mere thank you and enjoin this with Im glad you like it or It is so kind of you to have noticed. These are compliments in return. Avoid backhanding a compliment. There is nothing worse to a person complimenting than to receive the response Oh well I wish I was as ______ as you/that situation. That is tantamount to saying, No, I am not what you are saying I am, and your judgment is wrong.

11. Control your tone of voice. The tone of your voice is crucial. Most people feel insecure somewhere inside and have an inability to accept praise. For this very reason, when you praise, do it subtly and glibly. When you say, you look nice today it should be in the exact same tone that you would use to say its a nice day. Any variation from your normal tone will arouse suspicion about your sincerity. Practice giving compliments into a recorder and play it back. Does it sound sincere? Practice until you get it right.. It might not sound right to you, in that case, ask someone for judgement.

How to Argue Effectively & Win

It can be difficult for people to get their point across without hurting one another in the process. Here are some tips for effectively resolving a problem by stating your views, while being collected and reasonable. Also included are tips on winning an argument.
Stay calm & Keep a steady low tone. The energy you give off is usually picked up on by the other person; if you are calm they sense you mean no harm and relax more. Even if you get emotional, try to keep your dignity and don’t lash out unexpectedly. Also consider your tone of voice; try to keep a steady, low tone and volume, not fluctuating to much in speed and sound. Try to sound as relaxed as possible and avoid high-pitched sounds. Also consider your body language: have a good firm posture that makes your feel powerful but not aggressive.
Don’t insult the other person. Avoid to, in any way, say something that might be taken as an insult. When people are angry they are much more sensitive and will take even the smallest comment as an insult.
Express that you are willing to listen to the other person and respect them. Even though you might not agree with what the other person is saying you need to remember that they might feel just as strongly about their views as you do about yours.

Clever Fisherman

As King Haroun and Queen Zubayda were sitting in their palace one day, a fisherman who was selling fresh fish was brought in front of them. King Parveez decided to buy a fish and gave  the fisherman 4000 dirham for it.

The fisherman was overjoyed. He thanked King Haroun and left.

Queen Zubayda turned to her husband in anger and scolded him for paying so much for a fish. King Haroun let her have her say but said that the fish was purchased and that there was nothing that could be done about it.

However, the Queen was adamant and insisted that the fisherman be brought back.

“We will ask the fisherman about the gender of the fish,” she said. “If he answers that it is female, we will say that we wanted a male fish and if his response is that it is male, we will say that we wanted a female fish! Either way, we will be able to return the fish and have our money back.”

So the poor fisherman was called back and was asked the question.

Fortunately, he was clever enough not to be caught out.

He replied, “The fish is neither male or female. It is eunuch (neutral).”

King Haroun was so impressed by the ingenuity of the man that he ordered a further 4000 dirham to be paid to him. The fisherman thanked the King again but as he was about to leave with the heavy bag of money, one of the coins fell onto the floor. The fisherman immediately bent down to look for the coin. Queen Zubayda was already upset that the fisherman had been given 8000 dirham.

“Look how miserly this man is!” the Queen exclaimed. “One coin has fallen out of his bag full of money and he searches for it instead of leaving it for some other poor servant to find.”

The man heard this remark and said, “O Queen, it is not out of miserliness that I search for the coin but rather because it had the picture of generous King Haroun on it. I would not tolerate anyone to cause dishonour to the King by treading on the coin.”

The King was so happy with this response that he immediately called for another 4000 dirham to be given to the fisherman. When Queen Zubayda saw all  this, she thought it was better to hold her tongue and let the man go with the 12000 dirham before the King decided to increase the amount again.

(Lessons from Life)
Speech is an Art. If one knows what, when and how to talk  then such a person will be successful in life. “The beauty of man/Woman is in the clarity of his tongue”.
“Your tongue is the translator of your intellect”.
In other words, a person’s intellect and wisdom is recognized through his speech.
